Customer Story: West Coast Model RC – Building a Better Track with SoilGlu

For more than three decades, West Coast Model RC has been a cornerstone of the RC racing community in Perth. Based at Moojebing Reserve in Bayswater since the late 1980s, the club proudly supports three disciplines of RC racing — Offroad, Onroad and Big Rigs — and has become a place where multiple generations of families come together to race, volunteer and grow the hobby.

Over the years, the club has hosted some of Australia’s most significant RC events, including:

• 2011 & 2016 Offroad National Titles
• 2017 Onroad National Titles
• Multiple WA State Titles across both Offroad and Onroad

Their commitment to continual improvement is clear. In 2019, the club completed construction of Australia’s largest Offroad Drivers Stand, and more recently upgraded the Big Rigs area with shade sails, new pathways and a dedicated sand pit. Every upgrade reflects the club’s focus on creating a better experience for members, visitors and the wider community.

The Challenge: A Track Surface That Couldn’t Keep Up

With heavy use and WA’s harsh seasonal conditions, the club’s off‑road track surface required frequent maintenance. The team wanted:

• A more durable running surface
• Reduced wear and tear on RC vehicles
• Less time spent repairing and reshaping the track
• Improved racing performance and consistency

Traditional soil binders and watering cycles weren’t delivering the long‑term results they needed.

The Solution: SoilGlu

To improve track performance and reduce maintenance, West Coast Model RC turned to SoilGlu, Prozyme’s high‑quality acrylic soil stabiliser.

The club began applying SoilGlu to the off‑road track surface and quickly saw the benefits:

• A firmer, more consistent racing surface
• Reduced rutting and washouts, even under heavy use
• Less maintenance between race days

The feedback from members and visiting racers has been overwhelmingly positive, with the improved surface contributing to better racing lines, more predictable traction and a more enjoyable experience overall.
